"Kind of like an interactive movie... that you lose"
A few things that are not super realistic, like that people start panicking if the disease has no symptoms (but I guess that would make the game too easy), and tings like that. A lot of luck is involved, but there is certainly skill with the timing of mutations.
The overall game play is pretty simple, but I am still unsure of how all the natural disasters affect the disease.
I always ran into the problem of infecting the entire planet other then a few countries, but having those countries go into total quarantine until the rest of the planet dies off and I lose. =( It's funny when only one shipyard or airport is open so the ships and planes wander endlessly in circles. =P
Possibly have deaths that are not directly due to the disease. I doubt some small country could last very long if it is cut off from the rest of would and all related resources. Also, panic might break out in some countries that cause widespread destruction and death.
Not bad, but not particularly entertaining. Not too much interaction after a certain point. Just watch your virus spread, people die, and hope the governments don't close the borders, making you lose.

It was a standard arcade zombe shooter, which already takes off points in my book. No originality at all. I also couldn't stand that you had to start over when you died. I died when i entered the lab and had no interest in replaying the thing, even if it was short. sorry
A miss for me.

I thoroughly enjoyed it.
The animation quality shows great improvement, but it lacked a little bit of the originality and humor of the first. Still, that does not detract from the fact that it is an awesome film, just maybe in a slightly different way.
The adding of a plot line is an excellent idea, even if it is very undeveloped at this point. I am looking forward to "disk 2", even if it does take a while.
The animator is more important than the speed of the completion of the animations, however, so take your time and make sure to take care of your self. If anything in life were easy, there wouldn't really be a point to anything, eh?
Great movie and best of luck to ya!

Thanks a lot! I'm taking my time on the second part, so I can imagine a lot of people are going to hate me for that. But great review.

Another great edition of SHIFT, but with a cool twist. Story Mode! I love games with plot lines! Yaaaaaaayyyyyyyy! But seriously, I thought I was really cool how you took games that didn't seem to have any story and tied them all together in a wonderful web of deviousness. I also thought it was cool that I didn't, you know, I die at the end. At least if you know the code =P.
No, I am not going to post it here. Find it for yourself, you lazy bums! Geez.
PS: I know everyone has said this, but I feel obligated to say it too. Why Mel Gibson as the secret character? WHY?!?!

I just finished level 30 and I think I pulled a neuron from concentrating so hard. I wonder if that is actually possible...
Anyway, this game is extremely intense in its way. Not like a first person shooter, but the need to think about many different things at once while memorizing floor layouts, keeping track of invisible moving obstacles, remembering where teleports lead, and at the same time actually playing the game. I admit I cheated a little by writing down some directions and placing bits of sticky notes on my monitor to use as landmarks.
Advice to others: USE THE GRID! This game would be next to impossible without it. Keep track of the holes and move to beacons often to refresh your memory.
To deal with the moving blades, try counting, they will always follow a pattern. For one level, I identified that all of the blade in the level would move to the center at once and they all moved clockwise. I counted 1...2...3...4...1...2...3...4...Etc as they hit the walls and knew that when I said "1" they were in the center and I had to move when I said "3".
Other than that, focus like crazy.
Great game! Hard but not too hard and very, uh, how to say... mentally stimulating. Yah.
Good luck achieving immortality! (is that the prize at the end?! I don't know! Try to find out!)
Author's Response:
thanks for review.
Yea I added the grid pretty late in the development. It was wayyyy too annoying without it :P

Yet so awesome!
It's odd how a single guy simply dancing around on a screen can be so entertaining. I think it was a combination of being very in-sync with the music (what FPS was it in?) and the extreme creativity of the actions he did. I did notice the difference in animation style starting with when everything went all rainbow, but I would not have seen it if I wasn't looking for it.
As for a sequel, that would be cool, but it you want to work on other stuff, go for it. Just submit it, maybe? =) I am sure plenty of people will try to make their own versions of this, but we all know none of them will match up with the original.
Anyways, thoroughly entertaining, well animated (even if the drawing weren't that advance or complicated) and I saw a lot of creativity. Keep it up!

thanks your reveiw was helpful.
as for the FPS, i'm actually ashamed to admit it was really only 18 fps. if and when i do a sequel, ill definitely make it at least 25 fps.
and that would be cool to see other people's versions of this. i'd like to know i started a wave. but i'm quite sure people could do a better job than this. its just a matter of time before someone proves it.

1: you should only upload a segment of the music to minimize file size.
2: if you replay the movie, the music layers on top of each other. For future movies, make it so that the music stops at the end of the movie, or only starts once and loops.
Other then that, it was very short and didn't really have a purpose, but it was fairly well drawn and animated. I can see potential in it.

I thought the actual animation was pretty funny. Nothing too fancy or advanced, the lip-syncing was only semi-decent, but it worked stylistically and I liked it overall.
But, uh, where's the pre-loader? That is a pretty important thing for any animation that has a file size. Just saying.
Author's Response:
There is one, but I'm pretty sure the file size is too small for load time. thanks for the review though :D

Almost exactly like stratego with slightly different units and you don't reveal units when you attack. I thought it was great.
One absolute huge must-fix, however,
ADD A LEVEL SELECT BUTTON!! <Caps for ultra-noticeable-ness
I think I was on the sixth level or something and the game froze (possibly a glitch happens when you kill every enemy unit but the two leaders?) and I couldn't jump back to the level. The game was fun, but I have little interest in replaying each level to try to get back to it. So yah, level select is a must in my book.
Other than that, great game. Looks cool, has a storyline, and was fun to play (until it freezes and you have to start over).

It's a sprite-style videogame parody... without sprites! I must say that I like it better this way. There are plenty of good sprite movies out there, but the original artwork gives it a better and more flash-like feel in my opinion. Good job
