pretty

impressively detailed, and I liked the color. I see this one had a lot more audio-animation interaction than your revolution piece, which I really like. Would have liked to have seen more with the phoenix, but it looks like it was hard to work with.

Very smooth

By far the best aspect of this animation is the fluidity of movement. The flowing effect and smooth transformation were really cool, especially in the air. I actually thought the music was the right speed for the movements, but I do agree that the audio-animation relationship was the weakest part. You clearly put together a cool looking animation, and then stuck a song over it so it wouldn't be silent. That is fine, especially if you are just experimenting, but it would be really cool to see more interaction between the music and the animation. I liked how the colors changed when the music changed tempo, but then the style of animation stayed the same so it sort of lost the effect.

Final thought: I liked the simplistic single-color feel, but multiple colors can also be really cool. The colors can probably be added on digitally if you don't want to mix up your clay.

Nice job!

Awesome job

like pretty much everyone else, I can't say I was fan of the ending (even if I did know it was coming). other than that, great animation, great sound, great buildup of events, and great job overall. the dog dying part was sad. the dogs ALWAYS DIE.

First stick animation I have liked in a while

Something unique for a change. The animation style reminded me a lot of fancy pants adventures. In my mind, that is a good thing.

could have done more with it

It wasn't bad, but I feel like the ending was a bit of a cop-out. while random silliness is easy, it is admittedly pretty cheep humor. even in a short animation, i think you could have done more with the concept.
even if having an indie artist ranting about the brilliance and depth behind a obviously lame piece of work is an overused and stereotypical joke, it is still better than random and silly, IMO. heck, there are still plenty of other options. have him go on a journey to discover himself and speak to an elder guru living on a mountain, or have a montage where his career grows and he becomes wildly successful and the old "indie" becomes the mainstream and nintendo is indie (just to name two ideas off the top of my head)
it doesn't have to be complicated or more difficult, just more original next time, please

Hyperbole and a Half goes animated! Huzzah!

been reading the blog for a while, great to see some animations. admittedly, it was a ripoff of powerthirst and the variety of like-minded videos, but that doesn't make it any less funny. just slightly less original. and i could sure use some velociraptor sweat cologne or a lightspeed 3000 (after no shave november ends, of course).

Chag responds:

Don't be in any rush as the Lightspeed 3000 will shave you so fast that it gives time itself the middle finger... Leaving you clean shaven since the BEGINNING of November

beautiful

That was truly amazing. great animation, perfectly in sync, all FBF, too. I like the feature to pause and move one frame at a time to appreciate all the detail that went into it. Of course, now i have this song stuck in my head. keep up the great work!

Very entertaining

you took that story of a drop of water moving though the water cycle (a things that most middle-scholars are bored to death by) and turned it into a highly amusing short little film. The epic tale of a drop of water. I won't fault you for scientific flaws because that would be stupid. nice work, good animation.

yup, that about covers it

a rare glimpse into the minds of the political fanatic extremists, put into easy-to-understand movie form for the information of the general population =P. plus it is damn funny, too. well done!

Pleasantly surprising

I must say that i normally am not a fan of sprites or video-game parodies in general because they are often unoriginal and the same as every other sprite parody out there (sex jokes, gay jokes, random humor that gets old, as you said). But this actually took the characters and gave them personalities and did more than a simple parody. Great script, well thought-out, brilliantly pulled off.

few small questions, though... it says part II, but where is part one? Is this a not-really-remake of the part 2 for your other animations? And what happened to the triforce of courage? Did it transform to the triforce of arrogance or simply vanish?, or what?

Emptygoddess responds:

The triforce of arrogance....

I like it!

As for part 2, it says episode 2. The first 'episode' was broken up into 4 parts. Do not be confused! I am sorry! don't cry either. or I'll cry two, and I do not want us to both cry!
